Another young angel was deemed today
God touched down and took his suffering away
His smile is what I remember most of all
I saw it frequently from down the large halls
We were classmates throughout high school
He never made me feel like I was "uncool"
It breaks my heart to know that he's gone
With his close family and friends who will try to carry on
I didn't have to know his inner thoughts and cares
To know that he had a huge heart to share
There's so many people who speak highly of him
That light in his soul will never be dim
While writing my blog post for the day today, I was informed that a classmate of mine had passed away from a brain tumor. He was my age...29-30 years young. Too damn young to go.
Rest in Peace, Dustin Pheil
Going too miss him so much love you dustin

DeleteWhat a beautiful tribute, Cassie. I had the chills reading this! I'm so sorry for your and his family's loss. Too young...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're putting down your thoughts into words and creating memorable pieces like this. I'm still thinking we're doing this for a good thing, and not so much that we're that crazy. :)
Thanks Sandra. And you're right...nothing but good can come of these posts :)
DeleteI'm so sorry. I'm convinced that cancer -- brain tumors in particular, since that's what claimed my husband at age 44 -- is a beast from the deepest bowels of hell.
ReplyDeleteMay Dustin's memory be eternal.
I couldn't agree more, Alicia. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. May he rest in peace.
