Another month has flown by and I now have to come to terms with having a 10 month old daughter. JUST when I was coming to terms with having a 6, 7, 8, 9 month old.
In the last month Annaliese has blossomed into a little tiny lady. She has learned to crawl just days ago and has also taken her first step! She has been practicing crawling for awhile and has finally mastered the ability to lift one hand and balance herself until she lands it on the floor and repeats the step with the other hand. She is also able to go from a lying position to a sitting position by herself, and can catch her balance if she starts to fall over (but mommy and daddy still put a pillow behind her just in case). She amazes us more and more every day of how much and fast she develops. She has definitely gotten longer and heavier since her
9 month check up, but we haven't measured her yet.
She has moved onto stage 4 diapers, is a pro at waving "bye bye" and still calls everything "dada", including the cat! Haha! She crosses her feet like a little lady every time she sits. She loves to go for walks and look at the trees. She also loves animals and other kids. There is always a pattern of huge smiles when a furry friend or a friend more of her size is around. She squeals when she is excited and loves eating her toes. She eats 3 stage 3 jars of baby food a day and still has a morning, afternoon and nighttime bottle with snack times in between. She still takes 1-2 naps a day for about 2 hours each. She wears 12-18 month clothes, but mostly 18 months. The reason being is because her big brained head sometimes has a hard time fitting through 12 month shirts. Haha!
She is finally sleeping through the night!
YESSSSSSSSSSS! But she still wakes up on occasion since she is getting her two top teeth in. We've tried the mesh teethers with frozen grapes, Hylands teething tablets, oralgel, and Tylenol and Ibuprofin (when necessary) and it all seems to help only a little. The bottom teeth were a lot easier for her to handle. This time around she's much more fussy and much more snotty. No fun. :( She's a trooper though!
(as are mommy and daddy...)
Justin and I are planning her first birthday party since it's only 2 months away! It's definitely bittersweet. Our little girl is growing up and is only 8 weeks away from being a whole year old! It's going to be a Fall/Harvest theme...and that's all I can share right now. I have to keep some things a secret. ;) We were going to do a Mickey Mouse theme
since she LOVES Mickey, but wanted to have Mickey games that she could participate in, so maybe we'll do that for her fifth birthday party :)

We're heading to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire today since the rainy and hot weather kept us from going last weekend. Today is supposed to be great weather with no rain, so it should be fun! There will be a post with pictures to come! Stay tuned and have a great day! :)
Congratulations on 10 months! It's just as much a milestone for you and hubby as it is for her! I can't wait to see what you're planning for her bday party. I remember my DD's 1st bday party--it was over 8 years ago--and it was such a happy occasion! I love all your pictures of Annaliese!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I can't believe I've kept a baby alive for 10 months! It goes by so fast! I bet you can't believe you have a 9 year old! Thanks for the compliment :)
DeleteAwww she's super adorable. Seeing her pictures makes me wants a baby girl too :D
ReplyDelete:) Thank you , Maureen! Girls are fun, we're hoping for a boy next :)
DeleteSo glad you found me which led me to you! I love your pictures and it makes me wish that I had been blogging when Gia was born (or any of my kids, really). The one of her feet sticking out of her crib is the cutest picture ever. I am so in love with those little feet! Annaliese is gorgeous (love the name) and I have often said: I'd rather change dirty diapers than deal with teething (especially in the middle of the night).
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for returning the sweet compliment! :) I am glad that I had the urge to begin blogging before Annaliese arrived, but I still wish I had begun blogging way before that so I could find "my voice" and know how to better navigate things, but I've gotten the hang of it :)
DeleteAnd you are so right about changing dirty diapers! I'd do that all day and night for a month than deal with sleepless teething nights! (like tonight)...
