Mommy and Daddy time is hard to come by because we don't have much family around us who are able to help. We usually rely on Mamaw and Grandma (Justin's mom and my mom) for babysitting. My mom is very busy and Justin's mom isn't in the best health. So it's hard but we manage pretty well.
We dropped Annaliese off at Mamaw's house around 3pm and headed to a 4pm showing of "The Avengers". What an awesome movie! No wonder the ratings are so high! I was kind of sad when the movie was over, I wanted more! I'm a bit of a comic fan, myself. (There's something you probably didn't know about me).
I've always loved Batman, Superman and Transformers (Bumblebee is my favorite!!) and I became really excited when those movies came out in addition to Spiderman later on. I had never really got into The Avengers - The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. But now...I can't get enough of them! Iron Man is my favorite Avenger. Part of that has to do with me being a fan of Robert Downey Jr. (Who also shares the same birthday of April 4th with me- bet ya didn't know that either) cause he's hilarious in these movies! Anyway, if you dig the Marvel Comics and action movies, go swallow the ridiculous movie ticket prices *sigh* and see The Avengers!
After the movie, we called to check on the baby and of course she was doing fine, so we headed to dinner at The Outback Steakhouse!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
How often do you get to go on a date with your husband/boyfriend? What kinds of dates do you choose to enjoy?
Your Friendly Mama,
Sounds like fun! We don't get much alone time either because we are so far from family and there is never anyone to watch little man. I really want to find a sitter he can grow up with.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand what you mean. It's hard to find alone time to spend with the husband. Hopefully you can find a sitter to relieve you both for a date night every now and then! :) We all need it!
DeleteAw, that's great! You do need to take time away for yourself, away from the kids, just to regain some sanity and balance.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I used to be able to squeeze in casual dinners on weekends while his parents watched our toddler for a couple of hours. But since the baby was born 7 weeks ago, we've not had a date night. And probably won't for a while yet!
Time to recoop is great and even more special when it's so rare. I'm sure it's tough to find a date night out with a toddler and a newborn, but it will happen again. Scrumplet is growing and I'm sure his grandparents would love to watch them both for you guys soon, so you can enjoy a night out!
